Festival of Heroes is a celebration benefiting the Cancer Programs at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
The annual event helps support the ongoing efforts of the hospital and its mission to cure childhood cancer. Funds from the event will will be used to support the Cancer Programs and the development of a comprehensive cancer center at Children’s National in Washington, D.C. Festival of Heroes honors the courageous patients, as well as the doctors, nurses and volunteers who help fight childhood cancer every day at Children’s National.
Now in its third year, Festival of Heroes is being co-chaired by Deidre Adkins, who founded the event in 2007, and Allison Portnoy. Deidre and Allison are moms of children who were both successfully treated at Children’s National Medical Center.
Inspired by the care they received and the community that welcomed their families during treatment, Deidre and Allison continue to give back to the hospital through their generous support of Festival of Heroes.
